About the Artist - Diane Hutchinson
Two interests have been paramount to me throughout my life - art and environmental issues. Six years ago I began painting canvas market bags and selling them at the Lake Worth Green Market - life is good.
Everyone knows that some day plastic bags will be a thing of the past and reusable bags will replace them. My bags are original signed paintings on canvas market bags. The typical bag is 24" x 13" x 8" base, a large capacity compared to most market bags offered by the stores. There is no limit to the subject matter or the style of painting, and no two bags are alike. Custom orders are always welcome.
Market bags have a wide range of uses:
- A coordinated set as a wedding gift
- Custom painted bags stuffed with goodies for out-of-town wedding guests
- Birthdays
- Holidays
- Prize giveaways stuffed with appropriate material
- The options are endless
I also enjoy painting framed art (received several awards at the Lake Worth Art League's juried competition), murals, furniture, miniatures, and recently have sculpted the cucumber car (still un-named) for the upcoming Westgate green market vehicle.
One of my favorite works was an abstract of the Eiffel Tower on Peter Robinson's sliding doors at his very artistic home.
